PROCESS
Application: Record video audition materials prior to beginning the online application. Applicants may wish to type short-answer responses in advance so they can be copy-pasted into the application form. These brief responses provide a more complete picture of the candidate to the admissions panel.
Admission Decisions: Early Deadline Applicants will be notified of their admission status by April 1, 2025; Standard Deadline Applicants will be notified of their admission status by April 8, 2025. Priority consideration is given to students who apply by the Early Application Deadline.
Tuition Payment: Early Deadline Applicants will be sent a link to complete their secure tuition payment by April 15, 2025. Standard Deadline Applicants will be sent a link to complete their secure tuition payment by May 1, 2025.

VIDEO AUDITION INSTRUCTIONS
Only videos may be submitted. Audio-only submissions are not eligible for consideration. Splicing within works is strictly prohibited, but applicants may combine their musical examples into one single video if desired. Upload video(s) to Youtube and provide the shareable link(s) in the application. Video settings must make them accessible to the admissions panel.

PARTICIPANT SELECTION
20 Full Program Participants are selected based upon application videos and short-answer responses. Students not selected as Full Program Participants may be alternatively offered Ensemble Intensive Program positions.

Chamber group placement & part assignments for accepted students are made primarily based upon the applicant’s audition video. It is recommended that candidates highlight specific part-assignment register preferences through their audition repertoire.

TUITION

Includes daily light breakfast, snacks, and lunch. Entrance to the Atlanta Horn Festival Faculty Quartet Recital for the participant and accompanying family members is included.

  • High School Division applicants must be rising High School Freshman and at least 14 years old by May 27, 2025. Students must be active members of their school music program in good standing, or regularly studying privately if homeschooled.

    Young Artist Division applicants must have completed at least one year of university study and be under the age of 26 by May 27, 2025.

  • Participants must create video recordings of the following to submit with their applications:

    High School
    Concerto or sonata of your choice - First movement exposition.

    One additional etude, solo, or orchestral excerpt work in a contrasting style .

    Young Artist
    Concerto or sonata of your choice - First movement exposition.

    Three standard orchestral excerpts of your choice.


    Participants are selected based upon their application submissions and audition videos. The festival attempts to split the number of participants within in each age division as evenly as possible.

  • Two work-study assistantships are available to Young Artist participants. To apply, submit the standard audition materials and have your professor or private instructor submit a letter of reference to info@atlantahornfestival.com by April 1, 2015.

    REQUIREMENTS
    Recipients are selected based upon their application submissions, audition videos, and reference letters.

    DUTIES
    Duties generally consist of logistical support, including rehearsal setup/teardown, audition proctoring as available, and concert ushering.
